Craftsmanship

We are a family firm with qualified stone masons with experience passed down through the generations.

We are able to offer individual designs as our skilled craftsmen are able to hand carve or you may wish to have a picture or emblem particular to the person.  We are able to create an etching copied from a photograph that represents their life.

Our experienced staff can guide you through the process of choosing a memorial that satisfies the requirements of the burial authorities, whether it be in a town or parish cemetery or a village churchyard.


Different stones available:
•    Granite – Black, Dark Grey, Blue Pearl, Karin Grey, Ruby Red, Paradiso
•    Slate – Blue/Black, Sea Green
•    York Stone, Nabresina (Roman Stone), Marble (all lend themselves very well to carving)
•    The finished surface can be polished, honed or rustic.

You may wish to consider how much time you will devote to looking after the memorial.  Some types of stone are harder wearing or easier to clean than others.

A granite memorial can be cleaned with a damp cloth; the lettering carved into the granite will retain its sharpness for many years.

Letters carved into stone may one day require re-cutting.
